Kate Moss | Supermodel, Clothing Collaborator, Interiors Expert and now Wallpaper Designer

Kate Moss de Gournay

Kate Moss has proven she is more than a mere model over the course of her illustrious career. Clothing and accessories design collaborations with Topshop and Longchamps have helped her flex her creative muscles. In 2015, Moss even partnered with Philippe Starck’s interiors brand YOO to redesign a five-bedroom barn house in the Cotswolds area of the English countryside.

Bitten by the interiors bug, Moss has once again dipped her toe into the design pond – this time creating a floral wallpaper for British bespoke wallpaper atelier de Gournay. The results of this collab are fabulous!

Shades of navy, grey and silvery blues abound on the twilight-inspired paper, which Moss used to clad the walls of the master bathroom in her London-based home. “It’s my favourite time of day,” says the model extraordinaire. “I wanted that kind of film noir feel in here. Picture a summer night when it goes silvery-blue from the light of the moon,” she continues. Entitled “Anemones in Light,” Moss’ paper will become part of de Gournay’s permanent collection.

Ever since I saw Insta Girl Aimee Song’s enormous tufted velvet navy sofa on her blog Song of Style, navy has been my go-to décor colour. Working as either a neutral base, or as the pop of colour itself, navy, like Moss’s wallpaper, offers virtually endless décor options to suit anyone’s taste. While Kate’s master bath inches towards glamorous with a chesterfield and a record player, the wallpaper would also look beautiful and be functional in a dining room or living area.
